Trenton, Ontario - Day 2

We cycled up to Lock 1 to purchase our Trent-Severn Waterway Pass and looked at the lock system. We also purchased a Canadian fishing license, ate pizza, and provisioned.  It was fun biking in such mild temperatures in July! (79 degrees) Tomorrow we begin the Historic Trent-Severn Waterway (TSW) founded in 1833. Here's information on the 44 Locks we will go through this week along the 210 mile stretch.

All locks along the Trent-Severn Waterway are operated by hand. Here's Lock 1's manual door handles.

Here's a corny photo to show how the manual door handles work to open the locks.

Scored a fishing license!
