We spent the day in downtown Chicago and toured the historic Field Museum.

We touched the meteorite from the Canyon Diablo, Arizona.  The sign said we could.

The Canyon Diablo meteorites include the many fragments of the asteroid that created the Barringer Crater in Arizona.  Meteorites have been found around the crater rim and are named for nearby Canyon Diablo.  The asteroid fell about 50,000 years ago.  Studies of this crater refined the estimate of the age of the Earth to 4.550 billion years. The crater is about 3,900 ft. in diameter, 570 ft. deep, and is surrounded by a rim that rises 148 ft. above the surrounding plains.

The nephrite Jade boulder was found near Lander, Wyoming.  A section was cut and polished for you to feel and touch.  This stone weighs 2,490 pounds. That's a lot of Jade!

Random Aardvarks, aka, Earth Pigs, I thought were cool.

Random Flying Fish, which is the name of our Dinghy! Way cool!

Man-Eaters skulls.
