Campbellford, Ontario

Today we convoyed with Seahorse and traveled 4.88 NM and locked up 88 feet. We completed our first Step Lock which is a lock that empties you into another lock (a double lock).  We were fortunate to be the only two boats in the locks today, which made it more enjoyable and a bit less work and stress. We are docked at Old Mill Park in downtown Campbellford, Ontario.

We enjoyed lunch with Dan and Angie at Caper's Restaurant where the guys tried local brews and I enjoyed a strawberry Sangria.  (Strawberries are at their peak season here) I also had my first Poutine (french fries smothered in an amazing gravy and loaded with cheese). Charlie enjoyed the Smoked sausage macaroni and cheese.

Charlie, Garmin, and I toured the town.  We went to the famous Dooher's Bakery, World's Best Chocolate Shop Outlet, and The Beer Store.

At Dooher's we enjoyed strawberry and cream tarts. We also took with us the famous "Butter Tarts" we've heard so much about! (Thank you, Foster and Susan, aboard Quo Vadimus, for telling us to score these back when we met in Georgia!)

Charlie disagrees....his coin IS larger!

Dan and Angie, local brews and Sangria

These strawberry creme tarts remind me of my sister Maria!

The Beer Store; You select what brew you want from single bottles on the wall, then the cartons of beer come out from behind the wall along this conveyor belt!

Found this in the local grocery store while provisioning!
