Demopolis, Alabama - Day 2

Yesterday, when entering Kingfisher Bay Marina, we felt "a log" get wedged into our port prop, and docked successfully. Today, Charlie dove under the boat to remove "the log". What he found was not a log! Looks like a haul out may be needed to investigate the new rattle sound. We enjoyed a marina-wide happy hour with locals here and many Loopers. Another Facebook Live Aboard connection was meeting Ann! Later we enjoyed some fantastic fried catfish at The Red Barn. Our server was the legendary Miss Edna, who has been a waitress there for 40 years! Great times!

Today's courtesy car was a lovely Buick Century.

He's going down and is armed!

Charlie's new "Prop-Bling"!

Great to meet Ann, our newest Facebook Live Aboard connection!

Demopolis, Alabama

Another perfect weather day with no clouds in the sky. We traveled 80.1 NM and locked down 59' through two locks. Thank you swimming pig for the photo shoot (we thought it was a bear).  We are docked at Kingfisher Bay Marina in Demopolis, Alabama.

Pickensville, Alabama

We woke up to fog, but it was light, so no delay. We traveled 76.6 NM down the Tenn-Tom Waterway. Locking through 5 locks, down a total of 145'. Hello, Alabama! We are docked at Pirate's Marina Cove, Pickensville, AL.

Dredging Beast.

Itsy-bitsy Tug.

Tons of this in the Locks and Waterways.

Long day for the G-Man.

The Captain decided to cruise it up a notch!

Haven't seen these Canadian Geese since the Great Lakes! Migration has begun!

Fulton, Mississippi

We attempted an early morning departure but were delayed again by fog.  Once the fog lifted the day was spectacular, not a cloud in the sky all day!  We traveled down the Tenn-Tom Waterway (Tennessee River - Tombigbee Waterway) 49.7 NM and locked through 3 locks.  One of the locks was the lowest (or highest, depending on your direction of travel), locking us down 84'.  It was also a very rapid and smooth lock down. We were allowed to share the three locks with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers tow named Tenn-Tom.  Basically, we locked down the Tenn-Tom with The Tenn-Tom!  Special thanks to the coyote that posed so nicely for me! We are docked at Midway Marina, Fulton, MS.

"Lil-Dub" misbehaving on the dolphin.

Tenn-Tom Waterway.

Lock doesn't look very impressive when approaching  from the north.

This is the lock looking aft after locking down 84' and exiting.  That's a barge with a crane on it.

Looks like we are in Louisiana.
